When life is busy and tough and health begins to get in the way - what do you do? One young family decided to find a boat and hit the seas! Here’s their story:

What made you decide to take off on this lifestyle?

Time was ticking and Anthony’s mobility wasn’t getting any better. In 2020 to 2021 the world changed and we decided that it was time to put our dreams into action. We wanted to be the primary influence in our kids' lives and raise them in an environment with many different cultures and without the negativity that seemed to be dominating the news and social media back home. We have found all that out here on the water.

Where have you been and what have you learned so far?

We started our journey in St. Martin and traveled to the US Virgin Islands (USVI) where we found that seasoned cruisers were happy and willing to teach us about sailing, cruising and the liveaboard lifestyle. How to conserve water and electricity; where we should be getting water or food; where to dispose of our trash and never keep cardboard on the boat - it holds too many bugs. Eat like the locals and you can save a lot of money. Most importantly, we have learned how to figure out what broke, how it broke and how to fix it. We found that everything on a boat is broken, even if it doesn’t know it yet! ...
